Filmoteca michoacana

Abstract

This thesis consists in the development of the Project for the Filmoteca Michoacana A.C., which consists in a design proposal covering a theorical and historical review of the topic; analysis of the social, environmental, economic and architectonic context around the project; such as the functional determinants of the same project. This incorporates an architectural project as a result of the previous studies, giving as a result architectural plans, interior plans, installations plans, structural plans and landscaping plans; concluding through an approximate budget and a final conclusion. The decision of making this project arises from personal interest and after learning the initiatives of the Filmoteca Michoacana A.C., and the interest that exists from the municipal government to re-use disabled spaces at the historical center of the city. This project consists in the hybridization of several uses which main link is the cinema and the activities revolved around the filmmaking, and so to generate a “cultural sub-center” which remarks the cultural activities of Morelia city. Some of the activities that are included in this project are: exhibition, study, and film making, outdoor screenings, etc. For the development of this thesis, it was really important to analyze the conditions around the project understanding its nature and problems; the singularities with which account. One of the main objectives of this project are to generate a positive impact in its environment, improving the quality of the life there, and the re-appreciation of its historical and urban landscape from the immediate context.

Esta tesis consiste en el desarrollo del proyecto para la Filmoteca Michoacana A.C., la cual consiste en una propuesta de diseño abarcando una revisión teórica e histórica del tema; análisis del contexto social, ambiental, económico y arquitectónico en torno al proyecto; así como el análisis de los determinantes funcionales del mismo. Dicho proyecto comprende un proyecto arquitectónico como resultado de los estudios preliminares, dando como resultado planos arquitectónicos, de interiorismo, instalaciones, estructura y paisajismo; concluyendo a través de un presupuesto aproximado y una conclusión final. La decisión de realizar este proyecto surge del interés personal así como de conocer las iniciativas de la Filmoteca Michoacana A.C., y del interés que existe por parte del gobierno municipal de querer reutilizar espacios deshabilitados del centro histórico. Este proyecto consiste en la hibridación de diversos usos cuyo vínculo primordial es el cine y las actividades en torno al quehacer cinematográfico, a fin de generar un “subcentro cultural” que remarque las actividades culturales de la ciudad de Morelia. Algunas de las actividades que se engloban en este proyecto son: exhibición, estudio, y producción cinematográfica, proyecciones al aire libre, etc. Para el desarrollo de esta tesis, fue imperativo analizar las condiciones en torno al proyecto entendiendo su naturaleza y problemática; las singularidades con las cuales se cuenta. Uno de los principales objetivos de este proyecto es generar un impacto positivo en su entorno, mejorando la calidad de vida de la zona, así como la revaloración del paisaje histórico y urbano del contexto inmediato.
