Dibujo y diseño de piezas metálicas arquitectónicas y estructurales

Abstract

The development of this work focuses on the design and drawing of metal structures and architectural pieces, based on the existing codes in the city of San Francisco, California; because is in this place, where the elements which I present in this document have been designed and developed as part of my professional practice. I Included under the concept of architectural structures, the following elements: stairs, protective elements for stairs and hallways, handrails, doors, fences, canopies and awnings, window grill, support structures used at construction (structural and moment frames, beams, columns, platforms, etc.) and bachelorDegreeWork ornamental and furniture pieces. The reason that takes me to do this work, is the interest which I have that in Mexico we can get an integral architecture within all regulations; that is, that the architect is involved in the design and manufacture of these pieces, which might seem irrelevant, little-known or irrelevant, however, in practice these details require its importance, as their lack of planning can lead to different problems ranging from the esthetic (parts that not match with the style of the house and thus devalue it) until the breach of the provisions in the current regulations, which ultimately affects the security of the user.

El desarrollo de este trabajo, se centra en el diseño y dibujo de estructuras y piezas arquitectónicas metálicas, partiendo de los códigos vigentes en la ciudad de San Francisco, California; debido a que es en este lugar, donde se desarrollan los elementos que he diseñado y que presento en este documento como parte de mi práctica profesional. Incluyo bajo el concepto de estructuras arquitectónicas, los siguientes elementos: escaleras, elementos de protección para escaleras y vestíbulos, pasamanos, puertas, defensas, pérgolas y partesoles, protección para ventanas, estructuras de soporte empleadas en la construcción (marcos estructurales y de momento, vigas, columnas, plataformas, etc.) y otras piezas ornamentales y de mobiliario. El motivo que me lleva a realizar este trabajo, es el interés que tengo de que en México se pueda lograr una arquitectura integral y dentro de toda normatividad; es decir, que el arquitecto esté involucrado en el diseño y fabricación de estas piezas, que pudieran parecer irrelevantes, poco conocidas o intrascendentes, sin embargo, en la práctica estos detalles demandan su importancia, ya que su falta de planeación puede derivar en diferentes problemas, que van desde lo estético (piezas que no corresponden con el estilo de la vivienda y por lo tanto la devalúan) hasta el incumplimiento de lo establecido en las normas vigentes, lo que finalmente repercute en la seguridad del usuario.
