Ventaja comparativa revelada del limón mexicano: análisis con España, Argentina y Turquía, en el periodo 2000-2012

Abstract

The next research aims to describe the behavior of lemon exports for the top four exporters: Mexico, Argentina, Spain and Turkey, during the period from 2000 to 2012. The measurement is presented through the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index of Bela Balassa (1965). Additionally three new indices are proposed: the Weighting Averaging Index of Revealed Comparative Advantage (WAIRCA), the Orderer Weighting Averaging Index of Revealed Comparative Advantage (OWAIRCA) and the Generalized weighted index of revealed comparative advantage (GWIRCA). In order to elaborate it, data was collected from Food and Agriculture Organization.

Esta investigación busca hacer una descripción del comportamiento de las exportaciones de limón para los cuatro principales países exportadores, que son: México, Argentina, España y Turquía, durante el periodo del año 2000 al 2012. La medición presentada se hace a través del Índice de Ventaja Comparativa Revelada de Belá Balassa (1965). Además de este índice, se proponen tres nuevos índices el: Weighting Averaging Index of Revealed Comparative Advantage (WAIRCA), el Orderer Weighting Averaging Index of Revealed Comparative Advantage (OWAIRCA) y el Generalized weighted index of revealed comparative advantage (GWIRCA). Para la elaboración, se usaron datos de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura.
