The first chapter: The Scientific Method and Hypotheses, aims to give a definition of what is the scientific method, its transformation throughout scientific history, its current flexibility. Thus we also try to establish the change that have had the hypotheses in the history of science, its different uses and importance within the scientific approach. The second chapter: Interpreter of dreams. René Descartes and the role of the Hypotheses in science, tries to give a very general overview of the philosophical and scientific development of René Descartes, to enter his vision of hypotheses in the elaboration of a scientific and philosophical knowledge of the world. The important role of observation and experimentation in Descartes' theory of scientific method is to suggest hypotheses that specify mechanisms that are compatible with fundamental laws.

La tesis está dirigida a estudiantes de ciencia y humanidades de nivel superior, así como también a estudiantes de nivel medio superior y a maestros del mismo nivel con el objetivo primordial de dar una visión realista de la ciencia y del científico, con el propósito de hacer patente la humanidad en el quehacer científico, tratar de que al hablar de ciencia se rompa con el paradigma de rigidez extrema que trae consigo la visión newtoniana del mundo, hacer ver que la ciencias físicas evolucionan y cada vez se pueden encontrar más similitudes con otras áreas del conocimiento. Aproximar a los humanistas a la ciencia de una manera más sensible, ampliar lo que comúnmente la comunidad en general piensa de la ciencia: un conjunto de hechos imposibles de entender si no se es especialista, acumulación de cifras, etc., hacer que vean la parte creativa y sensible que utiliza la ciencia para generar su conocimiento y por ende su postura con el mundo. El primer capítulo: El Método Científico y las Hipótesis, pretende dar una definición de qué es el método científico, su transformación a lo largo de la historia científica, su flexibilidad actual. Así también pretendemos establecer el cambio que han tenido las hipótesis en la historia de la ciencia, sus diferentes usos e importancias dentro del planteamiento científico. El segundo capítulo: Intérprete de sueños. René Descartes y el papel de las Hipótesis en la ciencia, pretende dar un panorama muy general del desarrollo filosófico y científico de René Descartes, adentrarnos a su visión de hipótesis en la elaboración de un conocimiento científico y filosófico del mundo. El papel importante de la observación y experimentación en la teoría del método científico de Descartes es el de sugerir hipótesis que especifiquen mecanismos que sean compatibles con las leyes fundamentales.
