Reflexiones sobre la conciencia de la muerte: una comparación entre las perspectivas de E. Levinas y V. Jankelévitch

Abstract

In this thesis work I pretend to present opinions and concepts that some anthropologists and philosophers handle about death. Contrasting the theological vision that Emmanuel Levinas and Jacques Derrida have about death; with the anthropological vision of Vladimir Jankelévitch, Louis Vincent Thomas and the sociological vision that corresponds to the author Norbert Elias. Adding also with these confrontations, the current situation of how socially the subject of death in Edgar Morin and some Western discourses on it in culture and religion, based on what Aries Philippe tells us. This work is made up of three main chapters, the first responds to the arguments that make us able to think at medium accounts the epistemological problem that makes us wonder about what is death and what we know about it in its previous and current situation within our culture western. On the other hand, in the second chapter I refer with more background to the existence of a well-formed consciousness of the concept 'Death and the human being' before their anthropological visions of this same idea. And finally in the third chapter I would like to show some ideas in favor of the idea of death between the perspectives of V. Jankélévitch and E. Levinas.

En este trabajo de tesis pretendo presentar opiniones y conceptos que manejan algunos antropólogos y filósofos sobre la muerte. La contraposición principal es entre las visiones sobre la muerte de Emmanuel Levinas con la visión de Vladimir Jankélévitch. Las tesis de Louis- Vincent Thomas, la visión que le corresponde al autor Norbert Elias, cómo se ve actualmente el tema de la muerte en Edgar Morin y algunos discursos occidentales sobre ella en la cultura y la historia, partiendo de lo que nos dice Ariès Philippe, son las ideas que sirven de marco a la reflexión principal. Este trabajo se conforma por tres capítulos principales, el primero responde a los argumentos que nos permiten poder pensar a medianas cuentas el problema epistemológico que nos hace preguntarnos sobre qué es la muerte y qué conocemos de ella en su situación anterior y actual dentro de nuestra cultura occidental. Por su parte en el segundo capítulo me refiero con más trasfondo al existir de una consciencia bien formada del concepto ‘La muerte y el ser humano’ ante las visiones antropológicas de esta misma idea. Ya por último en el tercer capítulo quisiera mostrar algunas ideas a favor de la idea de la muerte entre las perspectivas de V. Jankélévitch y E. Levinas.
