El pensamiento de Lévi-strauss en el libro: Lévi-Strauss para principiantes, de Boris Wiseman y Judy Groves

Abstract

This work introduces and comments on Claude Lévi-Strauss's thinking from the Lévi-Strauss illustrated book for beginners, by Boris Wiseman and Judy Groves (2002). It also broadens the analysis made by these authors by glossing the concept of structure in the work of Lévi-Strauss. To the index of the book I comment, I also contribute a chapter on the concept of structure and two comparative figures between Hegel and Lévi-Strauss, with a view to giving more clarity to the ideas of Lévi-Strauss. They highlight philosophical reflections about determinism, the universal and timeless structure of the human psyche, with art and myths as manifestations of that structure.

Este trabajo introduce y comenta el pensamiento de Claude Lévi-Strauss desde el libro ilustrado Lévi-Strauss para principiantes, de Boris Wiseman y Judy Groves (2002). Además, amplía el análisis que hacen estos autores glosando el concepto de estructura en la obra de Lévi-Strauss. Al índice del libro comento, además aporto un capítulo sobre el concepto de estructura y dos láminas comparativas entre Hegel y Lévi-Strauss, con miras a dar más claridad a las ideas de Lévi-Strauss. Destacan reflexiones filosóficas en torno al determinismo, la estructura universal y atemporal de la psique humana, teniendo el arte y los mitos como manifestaciones a dicha estructura.
