Abstract

The article ‘Cooperation, Pervasive Impact, and Coertion: On the Scope (not Site) of Distributive Justice’ by Arash Abizadeh deals with a particular aspect of Rawlsian distributive justice: the question of wheter or not a theory of global distributive justice is possible. Abizadeh’s thesis is cosmopolitan, that is, he claims that distributive justice has a global scope, or at least, that it does so within the conceptual framework of a Rawlsian theory of justice. That position contrasts with the anticosmopolitan one advanced by authors like Rawls himself and some of his principal commentators, according to which distributive justice does not have a global scope.
