Acción inmunológica de los sueros, vacunas y bacterias en los animales domésticos

Abstract

Part of medicine and biochemistry that deals with the anatomical and physiological study of the immune system, also called immunological or immunocompetent, as well as the diseases that attack it. (Encarta, 2001). The term immunity includes all those properties of the host that confer resistance to a specific infectious agent. This resistance can be of all degrees, from almost total susceptibility to complete non-susceptibility. (Atmore, 1992). Immunity can be defined as the state of specific resistance that the animal organism possesses against a certain disease. (ppca.com, 2006). Thus "resistance" and "immunity" are relative terms implying only that one host is more or less susceptible to a given infection than another. Nothing can be inferred regarding the possible mechanisms of this resistance. (Encarta, 2001).

Parte de la medicina y la bioquímica que se ocupa del estudio anatómico y fisiológico del sistema inmune también llamado inmunológico o inmunocompetente, así como de las enfermedades que le atacan. (Encarta, 2001). El término inmunidad comprende a todas aquellas propiedades del hospedador que le confieren resistencia a un agente infeccioso específico. Esta resistencia puede ser de todos los grados, desde la susceptibilidad casi total hasta la no susceptibilidad completa. (Atmore, 1992). Inmunidad puede definirse como el estado de resistencia específica que posee el organismo animal contra determinada enfermedad. (Ppca.com, 2006). Por lo tanto "resistencia" e "inmunidad" son términos relativos que implican únicamente que un hospedador es más o menos susceptible a una infección dada que otro. Nada se puede inferir respecto a los posibles mecanismos de esta resistencia. (Encarta, 2001).
