Abstract

It refers to the techniques of artificial insemination (AI) in sheep, which are very important in production systems as a reproduction practice offer a high percentage of effectiveness, therefore, are used as a tool for breeding and improvement genetic. AI is a method of assisted reproduction in which the semen of the male is deposited in the reproductive system of the female, without direct contact between the male and female, it is also a means to genetically improve animals within of the herd. Este trabajo de investigación es una recopilación de datos más relevantes y de gran importancia para aquellos que tengan interés acerca de este tema y sobre todo en la ovino cultura, el objetivo es dar a conocer a los interesados las bases de la inseminación artificial específicamente trans - cervical, de la misma manera para el apoyo académico de todo aquel que desee consultarlo. Hace referencia a las técnicas de inseminación artificial (IA) en ovinos, las cuales son de suma importancia en los sistemas de producción ya que como práctica de reproducción ofrecen un elevado porcentaje de efectividad, por tanto, se utilizan como una herramienta de reproducción y mejoramiento genético. La IA, es un método de reproducción asistida en la que el semen del macho se deposita en el aparato reproductor de la hembra, sin que exista contacto directo entre el macho y la hembra, también es un medio encaminado a mejorar genéticamente a los animales dentro del rebaño. Existen diferentes técnicas de IA; estas son: vaginal, cervical, trans - cervical e intrauterina. Las cuales se mencionarán en esta literatura. Cabe mencionar que hay métodos de sujeción de las ovejas para cada técnica de IA, en dicho apartado sólo se describirá́ el método utilizado en la IA trans-cervical, y la preparación de los animales para el objetivo previsto que es desde la sincronización de celos, ya sea de forma natural o por medio de fármacos; Se relaciona la inseminación artificial trans - cervical con la mejora genética q se denotará a continuación.
