Abstract: African swine fever (ASF) is one of the most important infectious diseases of pigs; which also in recent years has experienced an expansion in its distribution. The objective of this work aims to develop and publicize the information and studies on ASF that help prevent and control. A problem in the field is the diagnosis because the symptoms can be confused with another disease and this delay its precise diagnosis. The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) established import/export guidelines for Terrestrial Animals, which called on countries and their partners to join forces against this deadly disease of pigs by adopting a new Initiative for the World Control of ASF. Due to the complexity, there is no vaccine to eradicate the disease, researchers continue to study this virus to soon find a solution. the best viable strategy to avoid eradication or elimination is the slaughter of the animals. Regulatory bodies in our country guarantee that they are capable of analyzing, controlling and taking the pertinent measures to avoid the entry of the PPA, in addition to updating and close communication with international agencies, teamwork with neighboring countries and that It is marketed and guarantees a functioning since, having a century of appearance of the disease, it has been prevented in our country.
