La organización social tradicional de una comunidad P’urhe: Ihuatzio 1960-1984

Abstract

The interest in this subject and this community in particular, was born as a result of the relationship of kinship, although a little compromised, with it. My paternal ancestry originates from the Santiago Sipijo ranch, very close to Ihuatzio. My paternal grandparents raised their family and lived in Ihuatzio, later they moved their residence to the place known as Ziranga, also a neighboring place to the community. There they formed a ranch with pigs and dairy cattle. This, coupled with the background of the Fraga lineage in the area, opened a gap that was difficult to bridge between the community and the Ziranga ranch. However, throughout my childhood and adolescence, with the repeated stays at the ranch in the company of my grandparents, the essence of shared life with the shore of the lake, its towns, its people, traditions, old places and roads in the community and surroundings that my grandparents knew very well. The story always of Ihuatzio, the town, as my grandparents and grandfather's ranch called it: Zipijo. This is how the interest in the community and its way of living was forged, already in the Faculty of History for the different ways of living that exist in Mexico and for the different ways of living that today are grouped or identified with the ethnic category. All with an eye on the value of difference and the need for respect and recognition that today exists between the borders of the various groups and social actors.

El interés por éste tema y ésta comunidad en particular, nació a raíz de la relación de parentesco, aun que un poco comprometido, con la misma. Mi ascendencia paterna tiene origen en el rancho de Santiago Sipijo, muy cercano a Ihuatzio. Mis abuelos paternos formaron su familia y vivieron en Ihuatzio, con posterioridad mudaron su residencia al paraje conocido como Ziranga, también lugar vecino a la comunidad. Ahí formaron un rancho con ganado porcino y lechero. Esto, aunado a los antecedentes del linaje de los Fraga en la zona, abrió una brecha difícil de zanjar entre la comunidad y el rancho de Ziranga. No obstante, a lo largo de mi niñez y adolescencia, con las repetidas estancias en el rancho en compañía de mis abuelos, estuvo siempre presente la esencia de la vida compartida con la ribera del lago, sus pueblos, su gente, las tradiciones, los lugares y caminos viejos de la comunidad y alrededores que mis abuelos conocían de sobra. El relato siempre de Ihuatzio, el pueblo, como le nombraban mis abuelos y el rancho del abuelo: Zipijo. Así se fraguó el interés por la comunidad y por su forma de vivir, ya en la Facultad de Historia por las diversas maneras de vivir que existen en México y por las diversas maneras de vivir que hoy se agrupan o identifican con la categoría étnico. Todo con la mira puesta en el valor de la diferencia y la necesidad de respeto y reconocimiento que hoy en día existe entre las fronteras de los diversos grupos y actores sociales.
