Abstract

The historiography of the 20th century has developed at a truly amazing pace. Themes, periods, methodologies and subjects have presented considerable transformations. In the century that has just ended, economics, politics, and major events have gradually given way to new works that have expanded the historiographic space: contemporary researchers trace avenues to the past of sexuality, marginal groups, regions, power , private life, written culture and the family. Currently, historiography has prospered significantly, but we consider that there is still much to be studied. The family as a research topic has been extensively addressed in recent decades by anthropologists, sociologists, economists and historians. This is largely due to the recognition of the importance of its organization and functioning in society. The family is the first collective stay of which the individual is a part, the importance of its study lies in the interest in investigating the reasons that determine its performance in society.

La historiografía del siglo XX se ha desarrollado a un ritmo verdaderamente sorprendente. Temas, períodos, metodologías y sujetos han presentado transformaciones considerables. En el siglo que acaba de concluir, economía, política y grandes acontecimientos han ido cediendo el paso a nuevos trabajos que han ampliado el espacio historiográfico: los investigadores contemporáneos trazan avenidas hacía el pasado de la sexualidad, los grupos marginales, las regiones, el poder, la vida privada, la cultura escrita y la familia. Actualmente la historiografía ha prosperado significativamente, pero consideramos que aún falta mucho por estudiar. La familia como tema de investigación ha sido abordada ampliamente en las últimas décadas por antropólogos, sociólogos, economistas e historiadores. Esto debido en gran medida al reconocimiento de la importancia de su organización y funcionamiento en la sociedad. La familia es la primera estancia colectiva de la que el individuo forma parte, la importancia de su estudio radica en el interés por indagar sobre las razones que determinan su actuación en la sociedad.
