Charapan: Memoria Histórica y tradición de un pueblo de la meseta Purhepecha (1940-1995)

Abstract

Over time, it has been important for human beings to know where they come from, what their roots are, and to present their history to the world, which exalts their being and makes them proud by giving them identity and making them unique and unrepeatable. Charapan is the municipality that, through an uncrystallized monographic draft, was left unfinished in a few pages and now I intend to revive it, as it is a worthy representative of Michoacán culture, by preserving its traditions and even more by transmitting them from generation to generation. It would be really unfortunate if this greatness is not spread and only remains between its streets and its green mountains. During the 90's, the monographic studies published by the government of the state of Michoacán, focused their attention on facts or relevant historical events of the different localities of the state; Without detracting from these works, I intend with this the rescue, conservation and dissemination of the historical memory of a municipality located in the Purépecha plateau. As I have already mentioned, at first it was intended to carry out an extensive monograph but in the process of searching for information, both bibliographic and archival, I encountered obstacles in relation to documentary information, since it was deteriorated, at best. cases, or simply no longer existed. This implied that some historical moments of Charapan would not have enough information for their reconstruction, leaving true historical gaps. This led me to mark dates that would allow the information to be linked, so that it would not be sectioned and at the time of making it known it would make sense and the sequence would not be lost.

A través del tiempo ha sido importante para el ser humano saber de dónde proviene, cuáles son sus raíces y presentar al mundo su historia, misma que enaltece su ser y lo enorgullece al darle identidad y hacerlo único e irrepetible. Charapan es el municipio que por medio de un anteproyecto monográfico no cristalizado, quedó inconcluso en unas páginas y ahora pretendo revivir, pues es digno representante de la cultura michoacana, al conservar sus tradiciones y aún más al transmitirlas de generación en generación. Sería realmente lamentable que esta grandeza no sea difundida y solo quedara entre sus calles y sus verdes montes. Durante los 90’s los estudios monográficos editados por el gobierno del estado de Michoacán, centraron su atención en hechos o acontecimientos históricos relevantes de las distintas localidades del estado; sin demeritar estos trabajos pretendo con éste el rescate, conservación y difusión de la memoria histórica de un municipio enclavado en la meseta purépecha. Como ya he mencionado, en un primer momento se pretendía realizar una amplia monografía pero en el proceso de búsqueda de información, tanto bibliográfica como de archivo, encontré obstáculos en relación a la información documental, ya que esta se hallaba deteriorada, en el mejor de los casos, o simplemente ya no existía. Lo anterior implicaba que algunos momentos históricos de Charapan no tendrían la información suficiente para su reconstrucción quedando verdaderas lagunas históricas. Esto me llevó a marcar fechas que permitieran enlazar la información, para que no se viera seccionada y en el momento de darla a conocer tuviera sentido y no se perdiera la secuencia.
