Abstract

The purpose of the Catalog is to be a guide to the documents that make up a part of an archive collection, allowing the researcher to know what is there, how it is organized and what its content is about, therefore it will facilitate better management and allow its conservation. In addition, the Documentary Catalog is a source of information that makes it easier for the archivist as well as for the researcher to control the collection under custody and quickly locate the files deposited in it, it describes in an orderly and individualized way the archival documentary units of a series or of Documentary set, which maintains a relationship or typological, thematic or institutional unit between them. Thanks to the wide range of possibilities that any documentary catalog offers to historical research, it makes them indispensable in the Historical Archives. This Catalog is made up of original handwritten documents from the 19th and early 20th centuries, which are integrated into Books that make up Districts. These documents were integrated by the Secretary of Government during the process of land distribution of the indigenous communities in the different Districts of the State of Michoacán, and thanks to this, we can currently consult them in the General and Historical Archive of the Executive Power of Michoacán. Regarding the temporal delimitation selected to elaborate this Documentary Catalog, it goes from 1869 to 1914, it obeys in the first place the needs of the Archive itself, since it seeks to give continuity to the Libros de Hijuelas respecting their initial order, since these divisions Periodicals were prepared trying to cover the entirety of a book so that there was no discontinuity in the cataloging.

La finalidad del Catálogo es ser una guía de los documentos que conforman una parte de un acervo del archivo, permitiendo al investigador conocer que hay, cómo está organizado y de qué se trata su contenido, por lo tanto facilitará un mejor manejo y permitirá su conservación, además, el Catálogo Documental es una fuente de información que facilita al archivista como al investigador el control del acervo bajo custodia y localizar con rapidez los expedientes depositados en el mismo, describe ordenadamente y de forma individualizada las unidades documentales archivísticas de una serie o de conjunto documental, que guardan entre ellas relación o unidad tipológica, temática o institucional. Gracias a la amplia gama de posibilidades que ofrece a la investigación histórica todo catálogo documental, hace que estos sean indispensables en los Archivos Históricos. A este Catálogo, lo constituyen documentos originales manuscritos de los Siglos XIX y principios del XX, los cuales se encuentran integrados en Libros que conforman Distritos. Dichos documentos fueron integrados por la Secretaría de Gobierno durante el proceso de reparto de tierras de las comunidades indígenas en los diferentes Distritos del Estado de Michoacán, y gracias a ello, actualmente podemos consultarlos en el Archivo General e Histórico del Poder Ejecutivo de Michoacán. En cuanto a la delimitación temporal seleccionada para elaborar el presente Catálogo Documental, va de 1869 a 1914, obedece en primer lugar a las necesidades del propio Archivo, pues se busca dar continuidad a los Libros de Hijuelas respetando su orden inicial, ya que estas divisiones periódicas se elaboraron tratando de abarcar la totalidad de un libro para que no hubiera discontinuidad en la catalogación.
