Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. Trayectoria, liderazgo y ponderación historiográfica

Abstract

Just over 57 years covering the life of the bachelor Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla (1753-1811), recorded one of the most profound transformations of human existence called "Western Civilization." Britain, France, Holland, Prussia and the 13 American colonies, had established at the beginning of this period, the foundations of industrial capitalism. Spain and Portugal were losing their place as major powers. Simultaneously to the Industrial Revolution shaped the revolution of ideas took place. The ideas of the D, Alembert, Diderot, Montesquieu and Rousseau, among others, Frenchmen were compiled and systematized in the famous Encyclopedia, which allowed to make available to any human being with sufficient ability to read, the scientific expertise and technological gathered by man from its origins to the Enlightenment. This was the reality of the world when the May 8, 1753 on the estate of San Diego Corralejo, Pénjamo jurisdiction in New Spain, reached the world Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio. After permeated the academic elements of the Enlightenment movement, Hidalgo was identified from his tenure as a professor at the Colegio de San Nicolás Obispo, as favorable to innovation and renewal. The circumstances in which the rise of Miguel Hidalgo bachelor in the city of Valladolid de Michoacán was raised, which led to the constant confrontation with powerful groups and most backward interest of ecclesiastical and civil bureaucracy. However efficient and simultaneous performance as secretary, treasurer and rector of the Colegio de San Nicolás Obispo, his enemies found ways to predispose to the Bishop Fray Antonio de San Miguel Iglesias, who ordered his departure to the distant parish of Colima.

Los poco más de 57 años que abarcó la vida del bachiller Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla (1753-1811), se registró una de las transformaciones más profundas de la existencia humana la llamada “Civilización Occidental”. Gran Bretaña, Francia, Holanda, Prusia y las 13 colonias de Norteamérica, habían consolidado, al inicio de este periodo, las bases del capitalismo industrial. España y Portugal estaban perdiendo su lugar como primeras potencias. En forma simultánea a la Revolución Industrial se desarrolló la revolución de las ideas. Las ideas de los franceses D, Alembert, Diderot, Montesquieu y Rousseau , entre otros , que se compilaron y sistematizaron en la célebre Enciclopedia , que permitió poner al alcance de cualquier ser humano con capacidad suficiente para leer , el bagaje científico y tecnológico reunido por el hombre desde sus orígenes y hasta el Siglo de las Luces. Esta era la realidad del mundo cuando el 8 de mayo de 1753 en la hacienda de San Diego Corralejo , jurisdicción de Pénjamo , en la Nueva España , llegó al mundo Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio. Tras permearse de los elementos académicos del movimiento ilustrado, Hidalgo se identificó desde su desempeño como docente del Colegio de San Nicolás Obispo, como proclive a la innovación y la renovación. Las circunstancias en las que se suscitó el ascenso del bachiller Miguel Hidalgo en la ciudad de Valladolid de Michoacán, lo llevaron a la constante confrontación con los grupos de poder e interés más retardatarios de la burocracia eclesiástica y civil. No obstante su eficiente y simultánea actuación como secretario, tesorero y rector del Colegio de San Nicolás Obispo, sus enemigos encontraron la manera de predisponerlo ante el obispo Fray Antonio de San Miguel Iglesias, que ordenó su salida hacia el distante curato de Colima.
