Los colegios jesuitas de San Ignacio y Santa Catalina de Pátzcuaro, 1752-1767

Abstract

The present research is a study that deals with the Jesuit colleges of San Ignacio and Santa Catalina of Patzcuaro 1752-1767, in which the employer nature of these foundations is addressed, statutes that regulation this operation, in come or assets held them, the characteristics of the education, the social groups to which was directed teaching, and the social sectors that favored the Foundation. The thesis is divided into four sections: CHAPTER I. JESUIT IN CENTURIES PATZCUARO XVI and XVII. CHAPTER II. COLLEGE OF SAN IGNACIO WORKSHOP. CHAPTER III. RESIDENCE OF SANTA CATALINA. CHAPTER IV. EXPULSION OF THE JESUITS PÁTZCUARO. This study aims to contribute to the knowledge of colonial education in Michoacan and the history of the city of Patzcuaro; through the work done by such an iconic religious order like the Jesuits. These foundations were more important than the Jesuits established in the city of Patzcuaro, introducing its so characteristic that influenced pedagogy in educating all sectors of society of the time, whose work was interrupted by the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767.

El presente trabajo de investigación es un estudio que trata sobre los colegios jesuitas de San Ignacio y Santa Catalina de Pátzcuaro 1752-1767, en el cual se aborda el carácter patronal de estas fundaciones, los estatutos que normaron su funcionamiento, las rentas o bienes que los sostuvieron, las características de la educación impartida, los grupos sociales a los que estaba dirigida la enseñanza, y los sectores sociales que favorecieron dicha fundación. La tesis está estructurada en cuatro apartados: CAPITULO I. LOS JESUITAS EN PATZCUARO SIGLOS XVI Y XVII. CAPITULO II. EL COLEGIO SEMINARIO DE SAN IGNACIO. CAPITULO III. LA RESIDENCIA DE SANTA CATALINA. CAPITULO IV. LA EXPULSIÓN DE LOS JESUITAS DE PÁTZCUARO. Con este estudio se pretende contribuir al conocimiento de la educación colonial en Michoacán y a la historia de la ciudad de Pátzcuaro; a través de la obra realizada por una orden religiosa tan emblemática como la Compañía de Jesús. Estas fundaciones fueron las más importantes que los jesuitas establecieron en la ciudad de Pátzcuaro, introduciendo su tan característica pedagogía que influyo en la educación de todos los sectores sociales de la época, cuya labor se vio interrumpida por la expulsión de los jesuitas en 1767.
