Ciencia, tecnología e innovación en la minería de oro y plata. Región Centro de México (1876-1911)

Abstract

This is explained from the Economic History and History of Science and Technology, the coupling process of new science, technology and innovation in the mining industry of gold and silver, particularly the central Mexico region during the Porfiriato. The process of change of the Mexican mining, which is a traditional activity, transitions to a modern practice is qualified. It is argued, the notion of "structural fracture" of Mexican mining that occurred after the modification of each of the qualities that constitute the operation and mining production. Finally it is argued through three companies in the region, the boom in the production of gold and silver through science, technology and innovation. At the time two reflective character details regarding the effects of the regional mining modernization Mexican redeemed.

Se explica a partir de la Historia Económica e Historia de la Ciencia y la Tecnología, el proceso de acoplamiento de novedades de ciencia, tecnología e innovación en la industria minera de oro y plata, en particular la región centro de México durante el Porfiriato. Se matiza el proceso de cambio de la minería mexicana, que va de una actividad tradicional, transita a una práctica moderna. Se argumenta, la noción de “fractura estructural” de la minería mexicana que se dio a partir de la modificación de cada una de las cualidades que constituyen la operación y producción minera. Finalmente se argumenta a través de tres empresas de la región, la bonanza en la producción de oro y plata gracias a la ciencia, tecnología e innovación. A la vez se rescatan dos pormenores de carácter reflexivo respecto a los efectos producidos por la modernización minera regional mexicana.
