La relación de Michoacán y el sentimiento hacia la muerte en la sociedad tarasca

Abstract

To be La Relación de Michoacán the main source of information to know about society tarasca since its foundation as a rule until the first years of the Spanish conquest, we based our research in the narrative discourse and the iconographic representation, in order to identify the types of death and the feelings that came by the way to dying. We considered to the war as a very important factor for the empire tarasco, which clearly the death came therefore to practice it, but with a connotation of honor and dignity to be carried as society stipulated or infamous in case of non-compliance the responsibilities assigned. For this reason, certain ways of dying had justification in its culture, as well as the way performed the mortuary rituals

Al ser La Relación de Michoacán la principal fuente de información para conocer a la sociedad tarasca desde su fundación como imperio hasta los primeros años de la conquista española, basamos nuestra investigación en el discurso narrativo y en la representación iconográfica, para identificar los tipos de muerte y los sentimientos que acontecían con base a la manera de morir. Consideramos a la guerra como un factor muy importante para el imperio tarasco, de la cual, claramente la muerte venía por ende al practicarla, pero con una connotación de honor y dignidad de ser llevada como la sociedad lo estipulaba o infame en caso de cometer la abyección de no acatar las responsabilidades asignadas. Por tal razón, ciertas maneras de fallecer tenían justificación en su cultura, así como la forma en que realizaban los rituales mortuorios.
