Abstract

The present documentary work was elaborated to give continuity to a matrimonial series that had been studied in the 19th century addressing the subject of Marriage, this work is based on the elaboration of 514 files belonging to the Fund: Parish / Section: Sacramental / Series: Marriages / Subseries: Marriage information / Year of 1900. In order to carry out this work, we consulted boxes 114, 115 and 116 of the Historical Archive “Casa Morelos”, which is located in the Historic Center of the city of Morelia Michoacán, on Calle Morelos Sur # 323; being a building of the eighteenth century that belonged to the Servant of the Nation Don José María Morelos Pavón. It is important to note that with the preparation of this work you can have an approach to the documentary heritage that addresses the subject of marriage in the year 1900 and you can learn more about the formation of institutions such as the Civil Registry, the result of the emergence of the Reform Laws and that led to the Church losing power during the second half of the 19th century.

El presente catalogo documental fue elaborado para dar continuidad a una serie matrimonial que había sido estudiada en el Siglo XIX abordando la temática del Matrimonio, este trabajo se basa en la elaboración de 514 fichas pertenecientes al Fondo: Parroquial/ Sección: Sacramental/ Serie: Matrimonios/ Subserie: Información Matrimonial/ Año de 1900. Para poder realizar este trabajo se consultaron las cajas 114, 115 y 116 del Archivo Histórico Casa Morelos, el cual se encuentra situado en el Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Morelia Michoacán, en la Calle Morelos Sur # 323; siendo un inmueble del Siglo XVIII que le perteneció al Siervo de la Nación Don José María Morelos Pavón. Es de importancia señalar que con la elaboración de este trabajo se podrá tener un acercamiento al Patrimonio Documental que aborda la temática del Matrimonio en el año de 1900 y se podrá conocer más a fondo la formación de instituciones como el Registro Civil, resultado de la promulgación de las Leyes de Reforma y que dio pie a que la Iglesia perdiera poder durante la segunda mitad del Siglo XIX.
