Abstract

This investigation, analyzes the celebration of the New Year P'urhépecha and its antecedents, between the years of 1970 to 1994. This proposal focuses on the discourses that have recreated the p'urhé identity from the festivity, adapting to the different socio-cultural and geographical environments. The work was carried out since 2009, during the celebration of the New Year P'urhépecha in Chilchota, later the field work was carried out in communities of the four P'urhepecha regions, such as Jaracuaro, Santiago Conguripo, Uruapan, Nahuatzen and communities for which the walks passed. The information was collected based on interviews with initiators of the event, organizers at the 2011, 2012 and 2013 venues, accompanying the walks. In the methodology, in addition to an observation guide, sources of hemerographic information were also used and a historiographic review was carried out. In this study, an approach to the celebration of the New Year p'urhépecha was made by means of the theory of social representations using discourse analysis as a tool.

La presente investigación, analiza la celebración del Año Nuevo P’urhépecha y sus antecedentes, entre los años de 1970 a 1994. Está propuesta se centra en los discursos que han recreado la identidad p’urhé a partir de la festividad, adaptándose a los distintos entornos socio-culturales y geográficos. El trabajo se realizó desde el año 2009, durante la celebración del Año Nuevo P’urhépecha en Chilchota, posteriormente los trabajos de campo se realizaron en comunidades de las cuatro regiones p’urhepecha, como fueron Jaracuaro, Santiago Conguripo, Uruapan, Nahuatzen y comunidades por las que las caminatas pasaban. La información fue recabada en base a entrevistas con iniciadores del evento, organizadores en las sedes del 2011, 2012 y 2013, acompañantes de las caminatas. En la metodología, además de una guía de observación, también se utilizaron fuentes de información hemerográfica y se realizó una revisión historiográfica. En este estudio, se realizó un acercamiento a la celebración del Año Nuevo p’urhépecha por medio de la teoría de las representaciones sociales utilizando el análisis del discurso como herramienta.
