Ayuntamiento y oligarquía en Morelia durante el Porfiriato (1903-1910)

Abstract

The City Council is an institution inherited by the Spaniards during the Colony. During that time it was the base of the political and economic administration, that is to say, of the social organization of the New Spain. The cabildos went through different transformations after the Independence, some disappeared, others obtained greater power. This thesis is due to the interest to make known the City of Morelia at the Porfiriato's time, specifically from 1903 to 1910, which represent the consolidation of the oligarchy within the municipal administration. It is showned the society that conformed the municipality, which was governed by those of the cabildo. Due importance is given to the territory occupied by the municipality of Morelia during the Porfiriato and how government decisions affected the corresponding populations.

El Ayuntamiento es una institución heredada por los españoles durante la Colonia, durante esa época fue la base de la administración política y económica, es decir, de la organización social de la Nueva España. Los cabildos sufrieron diferentes transformaciones después de la Independencia, algunos desaparecieron, otros adquirieron mayor poder. Esta tesis obedece al interés por dar a conocer el Ayuntamiento de Morelia correspondiente a la época del Porfiriato, concretamente los años de 1903 a 1910, los cuales representan la consolidación de la oligarquía dentro de la administración municipal. Se presenta a la sociedad que conformaba al municipio, la que fue gobernada por los del cabildo. Se le otorga la debida importancia al territorio que ocupó el municipio de Morelia durante el Porfiriato y cómo afectaron las decisiones gubernamentales en las poblaciones correspondientes.
