Ésta es tercera llamada… El teatro en Morelia durante el periodo porfirista

Abstract

The theater during the Porfiriato was a favorite artistic activity of the elite of the moment. However, during this period, the dramatic art experienced a process aimed at social criticism that delineated certain standards in the dramaturgy of a political nature at the end of the Porfiriato. We also pointed out the theatrical spaces, the trends, the public, the administrative process of the theaters, the actors, the plays and we realized that the theater shared the stage with other types of entertainment such as the circus and the cinematograph, as well as another type of performing arts such as zarzuela and opera. The theater not only had the function of entertaining, but also of incorporating itself into philanthropy with charity. We have also registered one of the theatergoers closest to the theatrical guild in the period we work: Mariano de Jesús Torres.

El teatro durante el porfiriato fue una actividad artística favorita de la élite del momento. No obstante, durante este periodo, el arte dramático experimentó un proceso encaminado a la crítica social que delineó ciertos estándares en la dramaturgia de carácter político a finales del porfiriato. También señalamos los espacios teatrales, las tendencias, el público, el proceso administrativo de los teatros, los actores, las obras y nos hemos percatado de que el teatro compartía escenario con otro tipo de diversiones como el circo y el cinematógrafo, así como otro tipo de artes escénicas como la zarzuela y la ópera. El teatro no sólo tuvo la función de entretener, sino también de incorporarse a la filantropía con la beneficencia. Hemos registrado también a uno de los aficonados al teatro más acercado al gremio teatral en el periodo que trabajamos: Mariano de Jesús Torres.
