Análisis geohistórico y cartográfico de las haciendas del poniente de Valladolid en el siglo XVIII: el caso de Itzícuaro y Sindurio

Abstract

In the present investigation the cartographic representation of the west of the city of Valladolid is addressed, during the eighteenth century, presenting central attention in the Itzícuaro and Sindurio haciendas, from two maps that were elaborated due to a boundary dispute between both that it was found in a file of land and water compositions, protected by the General Archive of Notaries of Michoacán; That is why these maps are important and rich, which are accompanied by an explanation and interpretation of their parts, which were subjected to questions about their represented elements from the reading of other maps. Therefore, we set ourselves the task of analyzing the area, how it was represented and the elements that were included, to question its existence and thus understand the map as a source for historical research. Likewise, make a contribution to research on the peri-urban west of the city of Valladolid from a perspective of historical geography.

En la presenta investigación se aborda la representación cartográfica del poniente de la ciudad de Valladolid, durante el siglo XVIII, presentando central atención en las haciendas de Itzícuaro y Sindurio, a partir de dos mapas que se elaboraron por motivo de una disputa de límites entre ambas que se encuentra en un expediente de composiciones de tierras y aguas, resguardado por el Archivo General de Notarias de Michoacán; es por ello de la importancia y riqueza de estos mapas, que son acompañados con una explicación e interpretación de sus partes, mismos que se sometieron a cuestionamientos sobre sus elementos representados a partir de la lectura de otros mapas. Por lo que, nos dimos a la tarea de analizar el área, como fue representada y los elementos que se incluyeron, para cuestionar su existencia y entender así el mapa como una fuente para la investigación histórica. Asimismo, realizar una aportación en investigaciones sobre el poniente periurbano de la ciudad de Valladolid desde una perspectiva de la geografía histórica.
