Representaciones de la violencia en La muerte me da, de Cristina Rivera Garza

Abstract

This thesis work directs its attention to two main axes: the analysis of the novel La muerte me da, of the Mexican writer Cristina Rivera Garza, from the use of the theoretical categories metaphysical detective story and anti-detective fiction, as well as the configuration of the representations on the violence that are found inside this text. Based on this, it is intended to give evidence of the way in which each of these representations is made up, in addition to specify what function they fulfill in the novel and describing how they are articulated together. It also highlights the social integration of violence that has led to its normalization both in the plane of fiction and reality, which has taken a dimension that makes it possess a communicative function conformed by a triad that It involves the perpetrator, the victim and a third party, who is a spectator to whom a message is made. It is proposed the reading of La muerte me da as a way of a device of visibility, of wonder and enunciation of the phenomenon of violence both real and fictitious, in the sense of an emergent measure to the necessity of scriptural strategies that act as new and different practices of making language and body speak. For this it is of vital importance the coparticipation of the reader to give a significant thickness the meaning of the text, as an active co-writing path that allows him to unveil both the enunciated and the nonenunciated.

El presente trabajo de tesis dirige su atención a dos ejes principales: el análisis de la novela La muerte me da, de la escritora mexicana Cristina Rivera Garza, a partir del uso de las categorías teóricas metaphysical detective story y anti-detective fiction, así como la configuración de las representaciones sobre la violencia que se encuentran en el interior de dicho texto. Con base en ello, se pretende dar constancia de la manera en que cada una de estas representaciones se conforma, además de especificar qué función cumplen en la novela y describir cómo es que se articulan en conjunto. Asimismo, se pone de relieve la integración social de la violencia que ha conducido a su normalización tanto en el plano de la ficción como de la realidad, con lo cual ha cobrado una dimensión que la hace poseedora de una función comunicativa conformada por una tríada que involucra al victimario, a la víctima y a un tercero, quien es un espectador al que se le hace llegar un mensaje. Se propone la lectura de La muerte me da a la manera de un dispositivo de visibilización, de extrañamiento y de enunciación del fenómeno de la violencia tanto real como ficticio, en el sentido de una medida emergente ante la necesidad de estrategias escriturales que funjan como nuevas y distintas prácticas de hacer hablar al lenguaje y al cuerpo. Para ello resulta de vital importancia la co-participación del lector para dotar de espesor significativo el sentido del texto, como una vía de co-escritura activa que le permita develar tanto lo enunciado como lo no enunciado.
