Resumen : Tourism is an activity of significant importance that contributes to the generation of wealth and employment and promotes the development of public infrastructure and services. It also has a great diversification of products: adventure tourism, nature, beach, cultural, among others. Nowadays Beach tourism constitutes an expanding tourist segment in which tourists seek rest, fun and contact with nature. The Integrally Planned Centers (CIP´s) of Mexico are tourist destinations that are developed due to the investment of infrastructure and use of natural resources to attract tourism, these centers are recognized worldwide thanks to their products and services in Mexico there are five which are: Los Cabos, Cancun, Loreto, Ixtapa and Huatulco. This research aims to establish the factors that determine the tourist competitiveness of these CIP´s, to be able to analyze them properly and strengthen their tourism; It seeks to increase its competitiveness through the factors that are conclusive. The determinants that are proposed are: tourism marketing, tourism quality, public policies in tourism, foreign direct investment in tourism and tourism innovation. To analyze this, the Likert scale and PLS model were used. The results of the research according to the perceptions of the surveyed studies that show the main factors that determine the tourism competitiveness of the CIP´s are: tourism marketing, tourism quality and tourism innovation. And according to the Partial Least Square model, the variables that most explain tourism competitiveness are Tourism Marketing, tourism innovation, tourism quality and foreign direct investment. It is concluded that the area where more attention should be given is to the Public Policies that are currently develop for tourism in these places.
El turismo es una actividad de relevante importancia ya que contribuye a la generación de riqueza y empleo y, promueve el desarrollo de infraestructura y servicios públicos. Asimismo, cuenta con una gran diversificación de productos turísticos como: el turismo de aventura, de naturaleza, de playa, el cultural, entre otros. El turismo de playa constituye, hoy en día, un segmento turístico en expansión en el que los consumidores buscan descanso, diversión y contacto con la naturaleza. Los Centros Integralmente Planeados de México (CIP’s) son destinos turísticos que se desarrollaron debido a la inversión de infraestructura y aprovechamiento de recursos naturales para atraer el turismo, estos centros son reconocidos a nivel mundial gracias a sus productos y servicios, en México son cinco: Los Cabos, Cancún, Loreto, Ixtapa y Huatulco. El propósito de esta investigación es establecer las variables que determinan la competitividad turística de dichos Centros Integralmente Planeados para poder gestionarlos de manera adecuada y fortalecer su turismo; se busca incrementar su competitividad a través de las variables que resulten concluyentes. Los determinantes que se proponen son: marketing turístico, calidad turística, políticas públicas en turismo, inversión extranjera directa en turismo e innovación turística. Para analizar esto, se utilizó la escala Likert y modelo Partial Least Square (PLS). Los resultados de la investigación de acuerdo a las percepciones de los encuestados muestran que las principales variables que determinan la competitividad turística de los Centros Integralmente Planeados son: marketing turístico, calidad turística e innovación turística. Y de acuerdo al modelo PLS, las variables que más explican a la competitividad turística es el Marketing turístico, la innovación turística, la calidad turística y la inversión extranjera directa. De lo que se concluye que el área en donde más atención se debe prestar es a las Políticas Públicas que actualmente se están desarrollando para el turismo en estos lugares.
