Abstract

The appropriate level of humidity varies for each crop, and if the amount of water used produces a humidity higher or lower than that level, the plant cannot develop optimally and the crop is lost or its production decreases. Saving water is one of the current social priorities, since the amount available to the population has drastically decreased. Therefore, it is necessary that, when carrying out irrigation activities, its waste is avoided. The main objective of this thesis is to design and build an irrigation control system that maintains the optimum desired level of humidity, without consuming more water than necessary. The operation and installation of the system must be simple and user-friendly.

El nivel adecuado de humedad varía para cada cultivo, y si la cantidad de agua utilizada produce una humedad mayor o menor a ese nivel, la planta no puede desarrollarse de forma óptima y el cultivo se pierde o disminuye su producción. El ahorro del agua es una de las prioridades sociales actuales, ya que ha disminuido drásticamente la cantidad disponible para la población. Por tanto, es necesario que, al realizar actividades de riego, se evite su desperdicio. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es diseñar y construir un sistema de control de riego que mantenga el óptimo nivel deseado de humedad, sin consumir más agua de la necesaria. La operación e instalación del sistema debe ser sencillo, y amigable para el usuario.
