Configuración y operación de sistemas de administración utilizando Epicor

Abstract

This thesis was based on the implementation, configuration, administration and operation of an MRP system (Material Requirements Planning), which is associated with EPICOR, which is the main software. Epicor software is implemented to adapt the administrative and production processes of a metal-manufacturing company engaged in the production of metal cabinets. Specifically, to improve the administration and programming of resources, raw materials and work orders that are used in the manufacturing process of metal cabinets. The decision is made to implement the Epicor MRP software in order to obtain the best performance, performance and loss of time in all the processes, to take better control of the programming and at the same time guarantee a better handling of information of all the areas. For the implementation and configuration of the software, the different processes carried out in the company are considered, such as the amount of resources with which it is counted and the way of working of production, making different use cases. The decision to choose Epicor MRP was that its structure allows modifying the software from much lower levels, and is mostly created with the programming language C# and Visual Basic, allowing IT personnel to modify the appearance, reports, MES interface, etc. It is also taken that comes accompanied by SQL Server. Configuration of the application server, the user's application, the production MES interface to have a better communication with the production area.

La presente tesis se basa en la implementación, configuración, administración y operación de un sistema MRP (Material Requirements Planning), que está asociado a EPICOR el cual es el software principal. Se implementa el software Epicor para la adecuación de los procesos administrativos y de producción de una empresa metal-manufacturera que se dedica a la elaboración de gabinetes metálicos. Específicamente para mejorar la administración y la programación de los recursos, materia prima y ordenes de trabajo que se utilizan en el proceso de la fabricación de los gabinetes metálicos. Se toma la decisión de implementar el software Epicor MRP con la finalidad de obtener el mejor desempeño, rendimiento y pérdida de tiempo en todos los procesos, llevar un mejor control de la programación y al mismo tiempo garantizar un mejor manejo de información de todas las áreas. Para la implementación y configuración del software se toman en cuenta los diferentes procesos que realizan en la empresa, como la cantidad de recursos con la que se cuenta y la forma de trabajar de producción realizando diferentes casos de uso. La decisión de elegir Epicor MRP fue que su estructura permite modificar el software desde niveles muy inferiores, y esta creado en su mayoría con el lenguaje de programación C# y Visual Basic, permitiéndonos al personal del área de TI modificar la apariencia, los reportes, la interfaz MES, etc. También se toma que viene acompañado de SQL Server. Se configura el servidor de la aplicación, la aplicación del usuario, la interfaz MES de producción para así tener una mejor comunicación con el área de producción.
