Reacciones adversas a medicamentos oncológicos en pediatría

Abstract

Pharmacovigilance is the set of methods, observations and disciplines that allow, during the stage of marketing or extended use of a drug, to detect adverse reactions and beneficial pharmacological or therapeutic effects, not foreseen in the previous stages of control and evaluation of the drug. The benefits of drugs are known before they enter the market. In contrast, possible adverse reactions are not always fully defined in the pre-marketing stage and must be discovered when the drugs are already being used by patients.

La Farmacovigilancia es el conjunto de métodos, observaciones y disciplinas que permiten, durante la etapa de comercialización o uso extendido de un medicamento, detectar reacciones adversas y efectos farmacológicos o terapéuticos beneficiosos, no previstos en las etapas previas de control y evaluación del medicamento. Los beneficios de los medicamentos son conocidos antes de su ingreso al mercado. En cambio, las posibles reacciones adversas no siempre se definen en su totalidad en la etapa pre-mercadeo y deben descubrirse cuando los medicamentos están siendo ya utilizados por los pacientes.
