Plants have played a very important role throughout the development of human history, our ancestors did not need to be botanical experts to notice and value the remarkable strength and diversity of the plant world. The need turned them into keen observers of the flora that provided them with food, clothing and remedies for their well-being. Over time, man has accumulated extensive knowledge about the traditional use of medicinal plants, a clear example of this were the Aztecs, who were not only limited to the simple use of these, but also had formulations that became true specialties that showed their advances in the art of healing, also developed a classification of plants similar to that used by Europeans, but all this knowledge was first forgotten and largely lost during the conquest, even branded as witchcraft and expelled from the acceptable body of knowledge.en
