Abstract: | The emergence of bacterial resistance to currently available chemotherapeutic agents is one of the great challenges facing the health sector, not only in Mexico but throughout the planet.1 Only in the United States of America are estimates around of 100,000 deaths annually caused by infectious conditions that cannot be treated.2 At this rate, it is not an exaggeration to think that the day will come when humanity will face bacterial infections as it did before the discovery of antibiotics. |
