Abstract: In the cost north of Jalisco, México, the tropical subdeciduos forest is a community that have a wide variety of plants and animals, in this vegetation live the endangered military macaw (Ara militaris) that is considered an endagered species in Mexico. Is is estimated that the species has suffered a decrease in its original distribution due to hábitat loss, process that will not stop in the near future, then there is no guarantee that the military macaw can adapt to these changes in its environment. On the other hand, it has been argued that the parrots to feed could help disperse the seeds of the trees that feeds, contributing to the recruitment of these plants. In the cost north of Jalisco, México, there are populations of this bird, it has been documented that uses very precise sites to nest, roosts, and to feeeding, however, there are sites that do not frequent this species despite having, apparently, the same physiognomic characteristics of a tropical subdeciduous forest. This study aims to demonstrate differences in floristic composition, diversity, forest structure and phylogenetic of woody plant, between feeding sites (SAL), sites nest-roosts (SAD), and sites without the presence of the military macaw (SSG), as well as collecting evidence of how the military macaw can influence the assemblage of the communities that frequents. To put this to the test in eight locations were sampled of 0.1 ha (two replicas) of the woody flora of the subdeciduous tropical forest of the northern coast of Jalisco. Transect samples totaling 1.6 ha included 3002 numbers, 50 families, and 163 species were indentified. In chapter I is estimated diversity through Hill numbers (true diversity measures), indicating that the SAD and SAL present major number of species and are, respectively, 2.3 and 2.1 more diverse than SSG.
