Cuidados de enfermería en el paciente con trasplante renal

Abstract

This work on nursing care for kidney transplant patients begins with the historical background: kidney transplant is the treatment of choice for most patients with terminal chronic kidney disease with or without dialysis. This type of transplant, like the rest of solid organs, reached its maximum development during the 1980s. Although the history of kidney transplantation begins at the beginning of the 20th century with animal experiments, the first transplants in humans were performed in the 1950s, the one carried out by Murray between identical twins in 1954 reaches its lasting success.

El presente trabajo de los cuidados de enfermería en el paciente con trasplante renal inicia con los antecedentes históricos: el trasplante renal es la terapéutica de elección para la mayoría de los enfermos de insuficiencia renal crónica terminal con o sin diálisis. Este tipo de trasplante, como el resto de los órganos sólidos, alcanzó su máximo desarrollo, durante la década de los ochentas. Aunque la historia del trasplante renal comienza a principios del siglo XX con experimentos en animales, los primeros trasplantes en humanos se realizaron en los años cincuenta, alcanza su éxito duradero el efectuado por Murray entre gemelos univitelineos en el año 1954.
