Abstract

For the development of the present process, the philosophy of Virginia Henderson was taken as a reference, this theorist considers nursing in functional terms, affirms that: "The only function of the nurse is to help the healthy or sick individual to recover health (or to a quiet death), which he would carry out without help if he had the necessary strength, will or knowledge, doing in such a way that independence is facilitated as quickly as possible”, he considers that as the patient's needs change, so does the definition of nursing.

Para el desarrollo del presente proceso se tomó como referencia la filosofía de Virginia Henderson, esta teorista considera a la enfermería en términos funcionales, afirma que: “La única función de la enfermera consiste en ayudar al individuo sano o enfermo a recuperar la salud (o a una muerte tranquila), que realizaría sin ayuda si contara con la fuerza, voluntad o con el conocimiento necesario, haciendo de tal modo que se le facilite la independencia lo más rápido posible”, considera que a medida que cambian las necesidades del paciente también cambia la definición de enfermería.
