Resumen : Studies in the past 10 years, whitefish Menidia estor they have identified their aquaculture potential, currently with the cycle complete culture. However, as part of the issues it presented is includes low growth compared to other species of commercial interest in the region. The objectives of this study were to determine the effect on the one hand photoperiod on growth and second evaluate the influence of the temperature in the sex ratio after 90 days after hatching. For that, two experiments were run in parallel were designed contrasting against one control treatment 25°C (12L: 12D). For the first experiment they tested three different photoperiods 24L: 0D, 12L: 12D and 6L: 6D (where L= Hours Light and Darkness D = Hours) at the same temperature (25°C). The results They showed the greatest weight gain and total length in organisms exposed to continuous light photoperiod (24L: 0D) with 43% and 12.86% for weight and height, respectively, being significantly different (P> 0.05) of other treatments from the first 15 days to 90 days. For another Moreover, in this same experiment and treatment in proximal analysis observed increased fat and decreased protein significantly different with photoperiods 12L: 12D and 6L: 6D, with an average of 2.84% and 15.6% Respectively. In the second experiment where they were tested five different temperatures (19, 21, 23, 25 and 27 ° C) with a photoperiod 12L: 12D. It was found that the best temperature in terms of growth and survival of larvae It exposed was 25°C, while the sex ratio was 1: 1 (female Male). This study allows us to conclude that growth and survival of larvae was significantly higher estor Menidia for treating continuous light.
