El humor en la novela gráfica The End of the Fxxxing World de Charles Forsman como crítica social

Abstract

This project provides a critical analysis of the graphic novel The End of the Fxxxing World, by Charles Forsman, focusing on the way it uses elements of humor and satire as a means of social critique of contemporary issues such as youth alienation, family dysfunction, and institutional violence. A corpus of representative pages from the work is defined through a theoretical approach that brings together concepts of humor, social criticism, and graphic narrative, upon which a multimodal analysis methodology is applied. The study aims to demonstrate how the author combines text and image to generate complex meanings that challenge the reader while maintaining a simple aesthetic and a critical tone throughout the work.

Este proyecto propone un análisis crítico de la novela gráfica The End of the Fxxxing World, de Charles Forsman, centrado en la manera en la que el autor utiliza elementos del humor y la sátira para hacer una crítica social sobre problemáticas contemporáneas como la alienación juvenil, la disfuncionalidad familiar y la violencia institucional. A partir de un enfoque teórico que articula conceptos de humor, crítica social y narrativa gráfica se delimita un corpus de páginas representativas de la obra sobre las cuales se aplica una metodología de análisis multimodal. El estudio busca evidenciar cómo el autor combina texto e imagen para generar significados complejos que interpelan al lector al tiempo que mantiene una estética simple y un tono crítico en la obra.
