Abstract: In this study, polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffolds reinforced with β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) were fabricated using the non-solvent thermally induced phase separation (NTIPS) method. PCL concentrations from 10 % to 25 % were prepared in dichloromethane (DCM) and different β-TCP contents (5%, 10%, and 15%). Scaffold morphology and porosity were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), revealing a well-defined three-dimensional porous architecture with predominantly spherical and interconnected pores averaging approximately 30 μm in size. Increasing PCL and β-TCP concentrations resulted in reduced porosity, smoother surfaces, and higher material density (from 1.20 to 1.52 g/cm³). The stirring rate during non-solvent addition was found to significantly influence pore structure. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the presence of the main components without chemical alterations after processing. Thermal analysis (TGA/DSC) demonstrated thermal stability up to approximately 380 °C and a melting temperature near 67 °C. Mechanical testing showed a significant reinforcing effect of β-TCP incorporation, increasing the maximum compressive strength up to 61.6 MPa. These results demonstrate the development of a composite biomaterial with suitable structural, thermal, and mechanical properties for bone regeneration applications.
