Violencia política y terror como estrategia bélica en la Guerra de Independencia: el gobierno militar de Torcuato Trujillo en Valladolid de Michoacán 1811-1812

Abstract

Rebellions and the military conflicts of the 19th century in Spanish America represented a maelstrom of violence that was exposed in the tangible and intangible combat strategies used by both the royalists and the insurgent groups. In the case of this research and the individualization of the concept itself, Torcuato Trujillo represents the mentality of the royalist military loyal to the Spanish crown and above all, determined to pacify above all the territories entrusted to him. Valladolid de Michoacán is the scenario where the population was at the mercy of the two swords.

La lucha independentista, las rebeliones y los conflictos militares del siglo XIX en la América española representaron una vorágine de violencia que quedó expuesta en las estrategias de combate tangibles e intangibles que emplearon tanto los realistas como los grupos de insurgentes. En el caso de esta investigación y la individualización del concepto mismo, Torcuato Trujillo representa la mentalidad del militar realista fiel a la Corona española y, sobre todo, determinado a pacificar por encima de todo los territorios que le fueron encomendados. Valladolid de Michoacán es el escenario en donde la población quedó a merced de los dos hierros.
