Paulo Freire en México. De la alfabetización institucional a una educación en resistencia

Abstract

En este trabajo nos propusimos estudiar la relación entre Paulo Freire y México. Nos interesaba abordar tanto las visitas que realizó el pedagogo brasileño a nuestro país, como el impacto que tuvo su pensamiento en la educación mexicana. También nos planteamos estudiar, hasta donde fuera posible, la forma en que México dejó huella tanto en su vida como en su obra. La tesis parte de una inquietud muy personal. Soy lectora de Freire desde que tengo uso de razón. Sus libros me acercaron a la pedagogía de una manera crítica, y me impulsaron a desarrollarme profesionalmente en el mundo de la educación de adultos. Sus textos me resultaban relativamente fáciles de comprender, pero otro asunto muy distinto era llevarlos a la práctica. Los problemas que debe atender un maestro rural son difíciles de compartir con personas que no han vivido la experiencia.

In this work we set out to study the relationship between Paulo Freire and Mexico. We were interested in addressing both the visits made by the Brazilian pedagogue to our country, and the impact that his thought had on Mexican education. We also plan to study, as far as possible, the way in which Mexico left its mark on both his life and his work. The thesis starts from a very personal concern. I have been a reader of Freire since I can remember. His books brought me closer to pedagogy in a critical way, and encouraged me to develop professionally in the world of adult education. His texts were relatively easy for me to understand, but another very different matter was putting them into practice. The problems that a rural teacher must attend to are difficult to share with people who have not lived the experience.
