Manuel Alas y el México convulsionado

Abstract

During a lot of time, the production historiográfica that has been in charge of of Mexico of the XIX century was centered fundamentally in the narration of the historical events and in the exaltation of the big heroes, same that has been of a great utility and starting point for later investigations. This way, they are remarkable brother's monumental works Servando Teresa of Mier, History of the Revolution of New Spain; of Carlos María of Bustamante, historical Square of the Mexican Revolution and of Vicente Riva Palacio, Mexico through the centuries, to mention only some. During the second half of the previous century, and as a result of important favorable advances for the investigation, like they are the rescue and modernization of files, creation of investigation institutes, impulse to the graduate degree studies, among other, studious of the history, national and foreign, they began an investigation work selecting political events carefully, social movements, parties, thought, characters, economic fluctuations, etc., decisive in the course of the history of Mexico. However, the attention has been centered in the history of the big heroes' brass, leaving in disuse the biographical investigation of the less well-known characters, when on the other hand, it has been admitted, we should consider it as another form of approaching the past. Also, he/she allows to do with more clarity the life and the social conflicts of the time from a regional perspective. In this current we find the investigations of Jan Bazant, Antonio Haro and Tamariz and their political adventures, 1811-1869, to mention an example.

Durante mucho tiempo, la producción historiográfica que se ha ocupado del México del siglo XIX se centró fundamentalmente en la narración de los acontecimientos históricos y en la exaltación de los grandes héroes, misma que ha sido de una gran utilidad y punto de partida para investigaciones posteriores. Así, son notables las obras monumentales de fray Servando Teresa de Mier, Historia de la Revolución de Nueva España; de Carlos María de Bustamante, Cuadro histórico de la Revolución mexicana y de Vicente Riva Palacio, México a través de los siglos, por citar sólo algunas. Durante la segunda mitad del siglo anterior, y como resultado de avances importantes favorables para la investigación, como son el rescate y modernización de archivos, creación de institutos de investigación, impulso a los estudios de postgrado, entre otros, estudiosos de la historia, nacionales y extranjeros, iniciaron una labor de investigación seleccionando cuidadosamente acontecimientos políticos, movimientos sociales, partidos, pensamiento, personajes, fluctuaciones económicas, etc., determinantes en el curso de la historia de México. Sin embargo, la atención se ha centrado en la historia de bronce de los grandes héroes, dejando en desuso la investigación biográfica de los personajes menos conocidos, cuando por otro lado, ha sido admitido, debemos considerarla como otra forma de abordar el pasado. Además, permite ver con más claridad la vida y los conflictos sociales de la época desde una perspectiva regional. En esta corriente encontramos las investigaciones de Jan Bazant, Antonio Haro y Tamariz y sus aventuras políticas, 1811-1869, por citar un ejemplo.
