dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this investigation is to study the intoxication and its impact in particular in the Mexican society and moreliana, during the last years of the XIX century and the first decade of the XX one, period in that Mexico was influenced by the effervescence of contributions and European several intellectuals' debates around diverse questions that they affected to the societies of the time, among these we can mention the discussions of the individual identity, the critic to the police methods and the legal approval of the consumption of alcoholic drinks.1 therefore, many of the ideas of the Old Continent were captured in scientific contributions of some intellectual mexicanos,2 in this respect medical countless thesis they stood out, juridical articles, among other. In this studies the influence of the Italian criminologist's ideas Caesar Beccaria was observed (1738 -1794) who it established the primicias of the classic denominated criminology and it founded the science of the penal right.3 in a same way the appreciations of I will Cease Lombroso, Enrico Ferri and Rafael Garófalo, and of Swedish Magnus Huss was latent in the works of the Mexicans. For the above-mentioned, the topic of the intoxication was transferred to the field of the science where it was sought to study it from different optic, that which provided new elements to understand social several uneasiness that Mexico porfiriano suffered, among them can mention the problems of health, cultural, criminals, economic, among other. dc.description.abstractEl propósito de esta investigación es estudiar la embriaguez y su impacto en la sociedad mexicana y moreliana en particular, durante los últimos años del siglo XIX y la primera década del XX, periodo en que México se vio influenciado por la efervescencia de aportaciones y debates de varios intelectuales europeos en torno a diversas cuestiones que afectaron a las sociedades de la época, entre éstos podemos citar las discusiones de la identidad individual, la crítica a los métodos policiales y la aprobación legal del consumo de bebidas alcohólicas.1 Así pues, muchas de las ideas del Viejo Continente estuvieron plasmadas en aportaciones científicas de algunos intelectuales mexicanos,2 al respecto sobresalieron innumerables tesis médicas, artículos jurídicos, entre otros. En dichos estudios se observó la influencia de las ideas del criminalista italiano César Beccaria (1738-1794) quien estableció las primicias de la denominada criminología clásica y fundó la ciencia del derecho penal.3 De igual modo las apreciaciones de Cesare Lombroso, Enrico Ferri y Rafael Garófalo, y del sueco Magnus Huss estuvieron latentes en los trabajos de los mexicanos. Por lo anterior, el tema de la embriaguez fue trasladado al campo de la ciencia donde se pretendió estudiarlo desde diferentes ópticas, lo cual proporcionó nuevos elementos para comprender varios malestares sociales que padecía el México porfiriano, entre ellos podemos mencionar los problemas de salud, culturales, criminales, económicos, entre otros. Durante el porfiriato se consideró que varios eran los factores que intensificaron dichos padecimientos, uno de ellos se le atribuyó al uso de las bebidas alcohólicas, así pues, muchos intelectuales de la época propusieron terminar con la embriaguez, pero la intención sólo se quedo en el mero discurso, pues la venta del etílico se intensificaba conforme avanzaba el tiempo.es_MX
