El convento de Nuestra señora de la Asunción de Erongarícuaro, 1547-1761. Vivencia franciscana de la pobreza evangélica

Abstract

The Franciscan old convent of Our Mrs. of Asunción of Erongarícuaro it has arrived until our days from the XVI century going by a series of processes and administrative changes that it has suffered from then on. Their presence has been significant as ecclesiastical vestige that, somehow, he/she remembers the consolidation of the process of Evangelism among its residents. However, it exists a great ignorance at the present time on the history of this property, as well as of the presence and work that the Franciscan friars that inhabited it from their construction until the sixth decade of the XVIII century in that you/they were robbed of their administration developed. Joined to this situation, it is significant the shortage of studies historical professionals that you/they not only approach the Franciscan presence in this place during the colonial time, but also the administrative changes that have been given from their secularization in the year of 1761.

El antiguo convento franciscano de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Erongarícuaro ha llegado hasta nuestros días desde el siglo XVI pasando por una serie de procesos y cambios administrativos que ha sufrido desde entonces. Su presencia ha sido significativa como vestigio eclesiástico que, de alguna manera, recuerda la consolidación del proceso de Evangelización entre sus pobladores. Sin embargo, existe en la actualidad un gran desconocimiento sobre la historia de dicho inmueble, así como también de la presencia y labor que desarrollaron los frailes franciscanos que lo habitaron desde su construcción hasta la sexta década del siglo XVIII en que fueron despojados de su administración. Aunado a esta situación, es significativa la escasez de estudios históricos profesionales que aborden no sólo la presencia franciscana en dicho lugar durante la época colonial, sino también los cambios administrativos que se han dado desde su secularización en el año de 1761.
