Resumen : After the first third of the nineteenth century and before 1930, the Mexican economy experienced a certain economic diversification, which stimulated and stimulated the articulation of the domestic market. The rural and urban development achieved by some regions and cities stimulated this market hand in hand with the Porfirian regime. So this was the regionalized economic scenario that would be encouraged in the later period, which was characterized by a determined intervention of the State in the economy. Thus, the post-revolutionary "economic reanimation" of the Mexican State would bring with it, together with the external effects caused by the two world wars and the economic crisis, the possibility of continuing the path of national industrialization. The design of economic policy focused on import substitution. It consisted of substituting imported basic goods (food, clothing, footwear and housing) through its manufacture in the interior of the country. This economic policy was maintained until half a century later, when the federal government tried to advance the process of industrialization by promoting the manufacture of intermediate and capital goods. Thus, the economic model was based on encouraging and protecting industry and the national economy itself, until the model was exhausted and ended up opening to the world market in the last decades of the century. In this context, the promotion of industrial development did not mean to move away from the stimulus to the agricultural economy, on the contrary, the harmony and the virtuous circle between both sectors, attracting the tertiary, was the key to boost industrialization.
