Catálogo de la arquitectura patrimonial de la Cañada de los Once Pueblos

Abstract

Conservation of traditional architecture we face today as an indispensable task, on the grounds that it represents an important element in shaping the cultural heritage of a human group, and that being a material product thereof, carries a heavy load of symbolisms and meanings uniquely expressing identity aspects of their culture. The architecture represents in any case a living testimony to the evolution and development of a society, an instrument that allows us to perform a reading first hand and investigate the various aspects that at one time led to the construction of specific work or set urban. Cataloging within this complex process involving conservation, is an important tool, which allows first identification and knowledge of self-constructed universe which is part of the material heritage of a people. Notwithstanding the limitations that in many cases is the cataloging of real estate, it has been seen over the years that is the only way that in any case has allowed much of the architecture of asset type in different categories, has been able to preserve and remains an important cultural reference to the passage of different generations. The catalog is now exposed allows to present the most representative of what we have called the financial architecture of the region known as the Gorge of the Eleven Towns portion, which took place a selection of material objects more defined tradition in the local architectural practice, in their different genres and types, providing this form a broader understanding of the constructive tradition of Purépecha group.

La conservación de la arquitectura tradicional se nos plantea en la actualidad como una tarea indispensable, en razón de que esta representa un elemento importante dentro de la conformación del patrimonio cultural de un grupo humano, y que al ser un producto material del mismo, conlleva una fuerte carga de simbolismos y significaciones que expresan de manera singular los aspectos identitarios de su cultura. La arquitectura representa en todo caso un testimonio vivo de la evolución y desarrollo de una sociedad, un instrumento que nos permite realizar una lectura de primera mano e indagar sobre los diversos aspectos que en un determinado momento motivaron la construcción de obra específica o de un conjunto urbano. La catalogación dentro de este complejo proceso que supone la conservación, es una herramienta importante, que permite en primer lugar la identificación y el conocimiento del propio universo construido que forma parte del legado material de un pueblo. No obstante las limitantes que en muchos casos representa la catalogación de los bienes inmuebles, se ha visto a través de los años que es la única vía que en todo caso ha permitido, que gran parte de la arquitectura de tipo patrimonial en sus diferentes categorías, se haya podido preservar y siga siendo un referente cultural importante al paso de las diferentes generaciones. El catálogo que ahora se expone permite dar a conocer la porción más representativa de lo que hemos denominado la arquitectura patrimonial de la región conocida como La Cañada de los Once Pueblos, en el que se llevó a cabo una selección de los objetos materiales que más definen la tradición en el quehacer arquitectónico local, en sus distintos géneros y tipologías, brindando de esta forma un conocimiento más amplio sobre la tradición constructiva del grupo purépecha.
