Abstract: In the present work the capacity of the rhizobacteria A. agilis UMCV2 and its volatile dimethylhexadecylamine compound (DMHDA) was evaluated on strawberry production process, in its different stages. The results showed that A. agilis UMCV2 was able to increase the percentage of germination of strawberry seeds via volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as to promote the growth of strawberry plants by direct inoculation in the root. On the other hand, the bacterial VOC DMHDA was able to increase the percentage of seed germination, promote growth and increase resistance to phytopathogenic fungus B. cinerea of strawberry plants under in vitro conditions. In the case of plant production, the consortium A. agilis UMCV2-Bacillus sp. M496 significantly increased (40%) fruit yield in strawberry plants under greenhouse conditions, without affecting the quality of the fruit produced. In addition, using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique, it was demonstrated that A. agilis UMCV2 and Bacillus sp. M496 bacteria colonize and persist in the internal tissues of strawberry plants under greenhouse conditions. In conclusion, the bacterium A. agilis UMCV2 and its volatile compound DMHDA improved different stages of the strawberry production process.
