Salud y enfermedad: reflexiones desde la filosofía

Abstract

The objective of this research was to understand from the perspective of existential philosophy the event of "being-healthy" and "being-sick" as conditions inherent to the ways of being-in-the-world. The aim was to explore the experience of living-inhealth, living-in-disease and being-to-die. We assume that health, illness and death are exsitenciario events and as such, the ontological and hermeneutical analysis of said phenomena is made. To support this thesis, a philosophical theoretical framework was established that would allow to bring to light the various perspectives that study these phenomena. In the first place, the vision of technological scientific medicine, where reductionism and the reification of the human being is evidenced. Second, the perspective of phenomenological philosophy, in particular Martin Heidegger's ontology and hermeneutics; although not limited to this thinker. It seeks to open the critical discussion regarding a possible "medical humanism", bioethics and the philosophy of medicine.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue comprender desde la perspectiva de la filosofía existencial el acontecimiento de “ser-sano” y “ser-enfermo” en tanto que condiciones inherentes a los modos de ser-en-el-mundo. Se buscó explorar la experiencia de vivir-con-salud, vivir-en-enfermedad y ser-para-morir. Asumimos que la salud, la enfermedad y la muerte son eventos exsitenciarios y en tanto que tales, se hace el análisis ontológico y hermenéutico de dichos fenómenos. Para sustentar esta tesis se constituyó un marco teórico filosófico que permitiera poner a la luz las diversas perspectivas que estudian estos fenómenos. En primer lugar, la visión de la medicina científica tecnológica, donde se evidencia el reduccionismo y la cosificación del ser humano. En segundo lugar, la perspectiva de la filosofía fenomenológica, en particular la ontología y la hermenéutica de Martin Heidegger; aunque sin limitarse a este pensador. Se busca abrir la discusión crítica respecto de un posible “humanismo médico”, la bioética y la filosofía de la medicina.
