dc.description.abstractChronic venous insufficiency causes a progressive and significant deterioration in the quality of life of those suffering. OBJETIVE: Assess the impact on quality of life in patients with chronic venous insufficiency by the SF-36. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Observational, survey type. Population: 125 patients with chronic venous insufficiency. Sampling: non-probabilistic convenience. Methodology: For the descriptive analysis of demographic and clinical characteristic saver age frequency and percentage.t-test for the difference between the scores of eight domains of theSF-36 and gender. Rating categorization into tertiles: low, regular and good. Pearson Chi-Square to associate the gender categorization. RESULTS: 125 participants, 81.6% femaleand18.4% male, mean age46.3years, 92.8% married, 66.4% with primary, 51.2% with family history,historyofpregnancy67.2%, 66.4% are obese, 82.4% did not exercise,72% with6-10years of evolution, 15.2% with partial disability, the predominant symptomsweight48.8%, 27.2% and16% pain, fatigue, average score ratio male /femaleSF-36: 47/48overall health, 73/68bodily pain, physical function73/68, 84/80vitality, physical role,92/78, 88/85socialfunction, 88/85mentalhealthandemotional role89/88. CONCLUSION: Chronic venous insufficiency affects related domains physical role but not reducing the emotional quality of life of sufferers.en
