Abstract: The Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease with. Self-Short Form 36 (SF36), allows to assess the quality of life of patients and response to medical treatment. The treatment of RA has changed in recent years, anti-TNF among others biological drugs improve the physical and emotional function of the patient linving with RA. The Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28), indicating the activity of the AR to assess treatment response. The aim of this study was to compare the quality of life in patients with RA treated with Etanercept, compared to those treated with Adalimumab. Material and methods It were included patients with RA who agreed to participate in the study, at the family medicine unit 80 from the Mexican Institute for Social Security, IMSS, in Morelia, who were being treated with Etanercept or Adalimumab, regardless of duration of disease or time of drug treatment biological, of both sexes, who could read and write, between 18-65 years old. It was an observational, cross-sectional, comparative and retrospective study. Two groups were formed according to the drug used: Etanercept and Adalimumab, quality of life was obtained with the SF36 and disease activity was estimated via DAS28 index. Results: 13 patients were treated with Etanercept and Adalimumab were treated with Adalimumab. The 93.50% (29) of the patients used biological therapy for over 19 months. The most commonly used DMARD was MTX, 100% of the patients used a NSAID and paracetamol. No significant difference in the overall quality of life was observed when this was compared between both groups of treatments.
