Calidad de vida, costo institucional y satisfacción del tratamiento en pacientes con psoriasis

Abstract

Psoriasis is an inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease of multifactorial etiopathogenesis. The impact on the quality of life has been compared with that of various chronic diseases, the treatment includes topical, systemic therapies, phototherapy and biotechnological products being the satisfaction varying depending on the type of treatment. Objective: to know the quality of life, cost of the treatments available at the Mexican Social Security Institute and the degree of satisfaction with the treatment as well as the association between these variables. Material and methods: : descriptive, crosssectional and observational study, evaluated sociodemographic characteristics and clinical variables, quality of life was assessed by means of the PDI questionnaire, an average calculation was made in national currency of the institutional cost of treatment, satisfaction was measured through CEST, descriptive statistics were used as mean and SD, frequency and percentage, the association was carried out using Chi2, ANOVA was performed for the cost of quality of life, the cost for the satisfaction with student T was contrasted, the statistically significant figures were associated with a p value <0.05. Results: 41 patients were studied, 56.1% of them were men, average age was 48.5 years. The quality of life was good at 80.8% of the patients, the institutional cost ranged from $ 684.00 to $ 158,149.68, 88.5% of them were satisfied with the treatment. The impact on QoL does not represent a high cost for the institution. Conclusions the quality of life was good according to the treatment used as well as the degree of satisfaction with the treatment.

La Psoriasis es una enfermedad inflamatoria y autoinmune de la piel de etiopatogenia multifactorial. El impacto en la calidad de vida se ha comparado con el de diversas enfermedades crónicas, el tratamiento incluye terapias tópicas, sistémicas, fototerapia y productos biotecnológicos siendo la satisfacción variable dependiendo del tipo de tratamiento. Objetivo: conocer la calidad de vida, costo de los tratamientos disponibles en el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, el grado de satisfacción con el tratamiento y la asociación entre estas variables. Material y métodos: estudio descriptivo, transversal y observacional, se evaluaron características sociodemográficas y variables clínicas, la calidad de vida mediante el cuestionario PDI, se hizo un cálculo promedio en moneda nacional del costo institucional del tratamiento, la satisfacción se midió a través del CEST, se empleó estadística descriptiva como media, DE, frecuencia y porcentaje, la asociación se realizó mediante Chi2, se realizó ANOVA para el CI por CV, se contrastó el CI por la satisfacción con T de student, las cifras estadísticamente significativas se asociaron a un p valor < 0.05. Resultados: Se estudiaron 41 pacientes, 56.1 % hombres, la edad promedio fue 48.5 años, la calidad de vida fue buena en el 80.8%, el costo institucional osciló de los $ 684.00 hasta los $158,149.68, el 88.5% está satisfecho con el tratamiento, el impacto en la CV no representa un alto costo para la institución. Conclusiones la calidad de vida fue buena de acuerdo al tratamiento empleado al igual que el grado de satisfacción con el tratamiento.
