Zusammenfassung: Generalized joint hypermobility (HAG) has been considered a predisposing factor for the development of temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD). It is an inherited disease defined by increased range of motion in multiple joints. The temporomandibular dysfunction is a common problem, the international literature refers that affects 50% and generalized joint hypermobility syndrome was present in 25% of the population respectively. The purpose of this research was to identify the relationship between generalized joint hypermobility and temporomandibular dysfunction. They participated in the study 55 patients aged between 11 and 54 years from clinical occlusion CUEPI UMSNH, obtaining a n = 17 (men) and n = 38 (women). A who underwent clinical history and physical examination according to that proposed by Beighton test, which involves measuring 9 joints among which are the right and left pinkie, right and left thumb, recurvatum right and left elbow, recurvatum the right and left trunk flexion complete unbent knee knees. For each joint in the test that is positive it is given a point, getting from 0 to 2 standard considering 3 to 4 moderate and severe 5-9. From 4 or more positive is considered in a generalized manner the presence of ligamentous laxity (Beighton Positive).
