| Zusammenfassung: | Preservation of the dental organs, exposure of healthy tooth structure, bone architecture regeneration prior to implant placement; confirm the effectiveness of forced extrusion in orthodontics. Temporary and definitive cements properties when are used for fixing devices on forced extrusions ex vivo are evaluated. Materials and methods: ex vivo forced extrusion was accomplished in 30 dental organs without coronal portion, at a tension force of 50 grams with nickel-titanium springs, the devices were cemented with Temp Bond NE, Prevision CEM, Non-eugenol Temporary Cement Prime Dent, Ketac CEM and Ionomax for a period of 4 months. At the end they were subjected to tensional loads until the point of detachment and / or deformation of the helix. Results: displacement and detachment were observed, 3 Prime Dent and 1 Prevision Cem. The average maximum load for device detachment of the zinc oxide group was 1227 grams. Ionomers’s maximum load resistance was 4330 grams with deformation of the helix. Conclusions: The efficacy for forced extrusion is similar using both temporary and definitive cements. Temporary cements based on zinc oxide are recommended because of its ease of manipulation, removing and bacteriostatic properties.
